FAQ

What is the Showcase of New Homes?

The Showcase of New Homes is an opportunity to digitally view a variety of homes and builders throughout Pender, New Hanover, and Brunswick Counties that were to be showcased in this year’s Parade of Homes™.  Due to scheduling challenges presented by the novel Coronavirus, the Association has worked to build and fully automate a digital platform to showcase these homes.

All of the homes captured in the Showcase are built by talented local builders who are members of the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association. The homes featured on the Showcase include single-family homes and townhouses as well as custom homes with prices from the $200’s to over $1.6 million.  Consumers have the opportunity to explore 63 different homes by reading home descriptions, viewing photos, looking at floor plans, taking 3D virtual tours, getting to know the builders, and seeing the latest in construction, design, and furnishings.

Am I able to physically tour these homes?

YES – Many agents are still conducting in-person private showings. You can click on the “Contact Us” button that is listed along with each home profile to speak directly with the listing agent about scheduling a private showing of that home. However, please note that the decision to schedule a private showing is up to the individual builders and agents.

What steps are you taking to keep me safe if I tour a home?

The National Association of REALTORS® has provided safe-showing guidelines that are being continually updated for agents to follow when showing a house in person.

At this time, there are no public open houses in order to control how many people are physically gathered in a home at once. Agents are scheduling private showings and maintaining six-feet distancing standards throughout tours. Many agents may in fact only allow one buyer to enter a home one at a time. You may be asked to remove your shoes upon entering. You may also be asked to have no children present at showings. Hand sanitizer is being made available for people touring the home to sanitize before they begin the tour and after its completion. Homes are cleaned and surfaces are sanitized at regular intervals. You may notice that all of the doors are open and lights are turned on upon entering a home, which is being done to minimize the number of touches on light switches and doorknobs.

How do I get more information about the homes?

Click or tap on the “Contact Us” button on each home profile to reach out to the agent for that listing. They will be happy to assist you.

Are these homes for sale?

YES – The vast majority of these homes are for sale. However, some of the homes may be models or custom homes that are already sold. Regardless, all of the profiles of the homes are intended to provide you with the opportunity to learn more about each builder and the different styles and floor plans that they offer.
